Orgonix began in 2003 with one maker and a table at the artist markets of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Branch Ellison, our founder, has been handcrafting orgone pendants ever since. Over more than two decades he has become one of the longest-working makers in the orgonite tradition, taking his work from those first markets to holistic fairs and then to collectors around the world.

The work starts with a story from the history of ideas. In the mid-20th century, the psychoanalyst Wilhelm Reich proposed "orgone," a universal life energy he believed could gather in layered organic and metallic materials. Reich's theories were never accepted by mainstream science. But his idea of layering, where matter, intention, and form meet, inspired a whole folk-art movement, and it still shapes how Branch builds every piece.

Today, from his studio in Nevada City, California, Branch sets each pendant by hand in layered resin with Elite (Noble) Karelian shungite, a rare, silvery, glassy stone made of nearly pure natural carbon, along with quartz, 23k gold leaf, and moldavite. Natural Welo opal, moonstone, sugilite, lapis, turquoise, and other stones finish each design, all built on sacred geometry: Metatron's Cube, the Seed of Life, the Torus, and our own World Star. Nearly every piece is one of a kind.

What a pendant means is up to the person wearing it. For some it's a talisman or a meditation focus. For others it's simply a beautiful, well-made object with a story behind it. We make each one with the same care.

Beyond the bench, Branch runs The Vision Collective, a home base for working and emerging artists at Nevada City's historic "Nail Factory." It's a creative community built on experimentation, shared tools, and helping each other grow.
